CTET Primary Level (Class I to V) Eligibility Details

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE 2002 Norms OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE Norms OR

INTRODUCTION

 

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th JULY, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in Clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi.

CTET 2022 Notification:  Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) twice every year for the aspirants who want to secure teaching job in government section. The applicants who are interested to take forward their careers in the teaching sector for primary and upper primary classes. have to qualify CTET Exam. CTET is the central teacher eligibility test, based on which the candidates can apply for various vacancies in various government and government-aided schools. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam will be conducted in online mode from this year and the CTET 2022 exam will be the 16th Edition of the CTET Exam for examining the candidates for their teaching eligibility. 

CTET 2022 Exam

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted twice a year by CBSE at the national level for determining the eligibility of candidates for teacher posts for Classes 1 to 8 in Central Government Schools such as NVS/KVS and other Schools etc. The online registration for CTET 2022 December has been announced to be conducted from 20th July to 19th August 2022 (Tentative). CTET Exam was previously conducted in offline mode, now CBSE is expected to scheduled CTET 2022 for online mode (CBT test) from 15th November to 16th December 2022The validity of CTET has been extended for a lifetime period.States that do not conduct TET Exam select candidates through CTET Examination.
